He was nominated in the category with his hit song ‘Effiakuma Love’ which he noted is a very good song and would be great if it wins the category.
The ‘Effiakuma Love’ hitmaker is known to be the best songwriter after winning the award four consecutive times.
Speaking on this achievement, the musician revealed he always puts in much effort, conducting more research to bring out lyrics that relate to societal issues.
“That is how I do it. I feel like every song needs to be taken care of. You need to do a lot of research. There are a lot of songs there, so why should they come and listen to your song?
“If you are paying attention to all my songs, they can win songwriter of the year, especially the Kofi oo Kofi album. If I am to release the songs one by one, each of them would win songwriter of the year for seven years.”

Kofi Kinaata lauded the Year of Return initiative for bringing the likes of Stevie Wonder to the country.
He noted bringing those in the diaspora to Ghana would help to develop the country.
“Yeah, I saw the Ghana cake which was in front of Stevie Wonder when he came yesterday and the year of return has been very exciting looking at what we saw in town. It’s been very nice in terms of foreign exchange and for those in the diaspora the kind of negative stuff that they are told about us is scary so when they come and see our level they get amazed.
“It’ll bring more of them home to come and help us develop Ghana because it’s strangers and visitors that we used in enhancing certain towns and cities.”

Martin King Arthur popularly known as Kofi Kinaata, a Ghanaian musician revealed his fans will now give him breathing space after dropping his 7-track Extended Play (EP).
According to the multiple award-winning singer, his fans used to chastise him and bother him with releasing an EP or album but he has now given them what they want.
“Sometimes when the fans demand something and you can do it for them and they become excited that’s also our source of happiness. Right now I’ve given the fans a lot of songs so they don’t know which amongst them is their favorite and so now they won’t bother me again.
“Now when they see me going on holidays or chilling or doing my short skit comedy or doing my usual jokes they won’t be asking how far with our EP because I’ve given them 7 songs. By the time they listen to all the songs to determine their favorite I would have rested a bit so now I get some breathing space.”
