Ghanaian highlife legend, Pat Thomas has made his way through Hollywood as his 1976 hit single “I Can Say” makes Marvel’s ‘Loki’ Season one finale soundtrack cut.
Pat Thomas’ song with the band Marijata ‘I Can Say’ made the soundtrack playlist. The fast-tempo highlife song comes off Pat Thomas’ second album ‘Pat Thomas Introduces Marijata’ back in 1976.
Well, Pat Thomas is yet to react to this as it seems he has been off social media for some time now.
A section of Ghanaians took to social media to react to this latest development. Some congratulated him as they touted him as a “living legend”. Others also noted that they are not surprised that his music was featured in such a movie. They explained that Pat Thomas has already made a name for himself and his music speaks for itself. Therefore, his song is the right choice for the movie.
However, some disclosed that they didn’t recognize the song when they first watched the movie. According to them, after a careful playback, they recognized the song and they were glad it was from Pat Thomas.

That notwithstanding, other notable songs are featured in the movie. Nina Simone’s ‘I put a spell on you’, Kylie Minogue’s ‘I should be so lucky’, and Sohail Sen’s ‘Swag Saha Nahi Jaye’ were all featured in the finale.
Also, Harry James’ song ‘It’s been a long, long time’ and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake’ were easily picked out, although it was pretty clear there were many more which were much harder to ascertain.
Ghana has already had at least one actor in a supporting role in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, with Abraham Attah playing Peter Parker’s Academic Decathlon teammate, Abe, in 2017’s ‘Spider-man: Homecoming’.
Pat Thomas, known as ‘The Golden Voice Of Africa’, is a Ghanaian vocalist and songwriter. He started his musical career in the 1960s where he collaborated with Ebo Taylor. In 1974, he formed the band ‘Sweet Beans’, and with them, he recorded his first album False lover.

He recorded his second album ‘Pat Thomas Introduces Marijata’ with the band Marijata. After the coup in Ghana in 1979, he relocated to Berlin and later settled in Canada.
He toured worldwide with his Kwashibu Area Band. In June 2015 they released the album ‘Pat Thomas and Kwashibu Area Band’ to mark 50 years of his musical career.
He was making performing shows abroad until the pandemic hit. Now, little is being heard of him until this news.
Speaking about the movie, ‘Loki’, the finale just turned the Marvel Cinematic Universe upside down and it may never be the same, according to Insider.
The ‘sacred timeline’ the Time Variance Authority (TVA) swore to protect has been compromised and the show ended with over 60 alternate realities starting to branch off from the main one fans have followed since the MCU began.
A visibly shaken Loki (Tom Hiddleston) was horrified to find he landed in some alternate TVA that’s likely in a completely different universe, one that may not be overseen by a benevolent ruler.
The season finale of Marvel’s latest MCU TV series which premiered on Wednesday, July 14, featured a dynamic film score.
