Esq. Joyce Mogtari Bawah, Special Aide to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, has expatiated on some accomplishments of the NDC flagbearer under the erstwhile NDC administration.
According to Esq. Bawah, the erstwhile NDC government established clinics, hospitals, and medical centers; expanded existing universities, transitioned polytechnics into technical universities; and built new universities focused on current and future national needs.
She further indicated that if a report were to be written about the erstwhile Mahama administration, the report would have established that through the Mahama Schools, popularly called E-Blocks, a debilitating shift system in education was abolished.
She asserted that many education expansion projects were accomplished at all levels as the textbook ratio at the primary level increased from one book to three children to four books per child, and so did the supply of chalk.
“It would highlight new roads, harbors, railway lines, the Ayalolo buses, the lack of intimidation of opposing voices, serious investment and practice to enable a digitized economy and society, the report would go on to point at housing projects including the famous Saglemi complex and those happily razed to make room for a presumed cathedral, journalists not hounded into exile…need I add more?”

Furthermore, she noted that the report would find that during Mahama’s administration, the blame for power outages was placed at the doorsteps of the President and the Minister for Energy.
She emphasized that the report would find a President who solved the energy crisis he inherited and an Energy Minister who resigned on principle. She indicated that the report would have noted that a timetable for load shedding, was provided to the public.
Moreover, Madame Bawah stated that the report would contrast the existing arrogance in leadership with that of the respectful John Mahana, who builds the children and youth by offering quality education, and lasting skills, and opens up the economy to create more space for jobs and self-actualization.
“The report, would highlight a John Mahama who does not line up desperate, young people in the heat of the tropical sun, to march and salute him as head of state, for jobs that have no head, tail, or future”. – Joyce Bawah
NDC Thrives On Consensus Building
More so, Esq. Joyce Bawah noted that the foundations of the policies of the NDC thrive on consensus building- from observation, study, and analysis through vigorous debates that tolerate all views, to an agreement on the options at hand and end with well-thought-through implementation plans.

As such, she indicated that a report on a future NDC government would highlight the critical processes that would lead to innovations and flexibilities of the timely, and intentional intervention of a 24-hour economy as proposed by H. E Mahama after consulting with stakeholders and citizens.
“I am not surprised at all that many significant labor groups, businesses and individuals have embraced the concept. It is a vision anchored on the firm belief that with the right policies and incentives in place, we can inspire a new generation of enterprises to adopt a multi-shift work system and wider participation in the economy, thereby ushering us into a new golden era of Ghanaian industry”.
Esq. Joyce Mogtari Bawah
Furthermore, she noted that by the time the policy is in full flight, Ghanaians, in every sector of the economy, formal or informal, will come to see and apply the benefits of a 24-hour economy for national, group, and individual advancement.
As such, Madam Bawah urged all Ghanaians to join the NDC in its town hall meetings and other programs to learn more about the 24-hour economic strategy.
“Do not fall victim to those who have realized that having failed in sloganeering and packaging, they have exhausted their strategies and therefore resort to deception and destruction”. – Joyce Bawah
Esq. Bawah indicated that the NDC is pleased to see, as evidenced in credible polls, that the 24-hour policy has caught on and resonated with the public, especially the young people.
