Furthermore, the former Minister of Food and Agriculture indicated that he embarked on the most issue-based campaign after highlighting his achievements in the agriculture sector to delegates across the country.
He noted that throughout his campaign engagement with members and delegates of the party, he identified the most pressing needs of the members of the party, particularly those at the grassroots. According to him, such a lesson would form the bedrock of the reforms that his administration intends to carry out if delegates elect him on Saturday, November 4 2023.
“Our campaign has been conducted from the smallest hamlet to the biggest cities around the country and we have ensured that our vision is carried throughout the two hundred and seventy-five constituencies in the country. The past few weeks, my few visits have clearly shown a wave sweeping through the support I enjoyed among delegates across the country”.

About his developmental agenda to transform agriculture in Ghana to boost the country’s economy, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto promised to set up an agricultural management team if he becomes president of Ghana.
Dr Afriyie Akoto explained that the agricultural management team will have the responsibility of ensuring that adequate financial resources are allocated to agriculture.
“We should give it special attention by making sure that at least we reach the AU target of allocating 10 per cent of our budget to agriculture. To do that, I will set up an agricultural management team chaired by the Vice President and the Vice President will be presiding over the agricultural management team to ensure that the budget required for the transformation of agriculture will take place. And then, Ghana can reap the benefits.”
