Social media entertainer, Afia Schwarzenegger has called on the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo, to sack the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Otchere-Darko Mensah after the Minister made some allegations against a certain pregnant woman.
The Western Regional Minister came out with reports that the woman identified as Madam Josephine Panyin Mensah, who was reportedly kidnapped a few days ago was never pregnant as reported in the news.
This comes after the lady was found on Tuesday without a pregnancy nor a baby but claims on social media suggested that she was 9-months pregnant before getting kidnapped.
According to Kwabena Otchere-Darko Mensah, a preliminary investigation conducted on the supposed missing but found “pregnant woman” reveals she wasn’t pregnant. He said that the medical officers who examined Josephine when she was found at the Axim Government Hospital told him that the 28-year-old was never pregnant as speculated on social media.
Afia Schwarzenegger who seems to be agitated over his statement has called on the President to send him home and relieve him of duty to deter other politicians who find pleasure in passing insensitive comments over critical issues from repeating such incidents. Taking to her IG page she wrote;
“Dear Mr. President @nakufoaddo, we need sensitive leaders and not idiots, therefore we plead with your reputable office to send this man home to serve as a warning to everyone who thinks Ghana has been given to him for ‘Work and Pay’. Sack Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah now and have him investigated… He is a suspect in the kidnapping of the pregnant woman. This one will be roaming about answering to Honorable”.
Meanwhile, some aggrieved residents in Takoradi have also expressed dissatisfaction over reports by the Ghana Police Service that 29-year-old Josephine Panyin Mensah faked her pregnancy and kidnapping.

The neighbors of the victim clad in red chanted war songs and rained curses on the police administration and the Western Regional Security Council (REGSEC) for making such claims that the family faked Josephine’s pregnancy.
Earlier, the Ghana Police Service announced that the missing pregnant woman is now a suspect for conspiracy to kidnapping. According to the Police, Mrs. Mensah conspired with three others to fake her kidnapping. The Police also said she was never pregnant and she planned the hoax.
“The victim, now a suspect, during interrogation mentioned the European Hospital in Takoradi as the hospital for her antenatal reviews and assessment. Medical records at the facility suggested that the lady visited the hospital without pregnancy somewhere in October last year”.
However, the Administrator of the Takoradi Hospital, Rev. Osei Boateng confirmed that Mrs. Mensah frequented the health facility before she went missing.
Rev. Boateng in an interview said: “There are records to prove that she has been regular at this hospital”.
He also posited that the medical records of the patient cannot be given out unless a court instructs them.
