David Tamaklo Hails Ghana Police Service For Immerse Efforts Throughout The Year

David Tamakloe

Mr David Tamakloe, Editor of WhatsUp News online, has praised the Ghana Police Service for their immerse efforts throughout the year, for what he thinks to be a remarkable year for the country’s security agency.

According to the editor, despite the numerous demonstrations and chaos the nation has experienced in the year 2022, the Ghana Police Service has maintained sanity and order across the 16 regions of the country and hence deserves a special mention.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Tamakloe opined that the upcoming Christmas festivities pose another tough challenge for the Police. He therefore asked the Police service to take advantage of the busy weeks ahead to maintain a positive image in the minds of Ghanaians.

“We need to appreciate the good works of the Ghana Police force this year. Despite some challenges they’ve stood their grounds. Their work in this time of the year is always very difficult. They do their best to see to it that the country keeps its sanity in times like this.

“In terms of accidents, criminals and the busy nature of our cities and roads, they do their best to keep things running. So, we’ll give them their flowers and encourage them.”

David Tamakloe

According to David Tamakloe, the few bad officers who take advantage to make money during a season like this, should be warned and rather take advantage of the festive situations to keep the image of the police service intact and that they’ll reap the benefits when everything is over.

Recent Reforms

President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo recently noted that his government was in support of the numerous reforms undertaken by the leadership of the Ghana Police Service.

According to him, such reforms will lead to better policing for the safety of all Ghanaians. President Akufo-Addo also commended efforts by the Police Administration to boost public confidence in the institution.

This was when he presented 1,000 motorbikes to the Service for its community patrols.

“The Police Service has embarked on a transformation agenda in positioning the service to become one of the best institutions in the country, if not the best. This laudable initiative seeks to regain the respect, trust, and confidence of the public.

“Government is very much aware of the efforts taken by the service to intensify targeted operations in communities notorious for violent crime. Special teams have been trained and positioned in defined locations to make it difficult, if not impossible, for criminals to have a field day.”

Akuffo Addo

The Ghana Police Service has throughout the year handled a lot of demonstrations and chaos by groups who disagreed with certain decisions by the government.

The Ghana Police Service is the main law enforcement agency of Ghana. The service is under the control of the Ministry of Interior, and employs over 30,000 officers across its 651 stations.
