Gervonta “Tank” Davis is scheduled for a 12-round defence professional lightweight championship fight against Rolando “Rolly” Romero on Sunday, 5th December 2021 at the STAPLES Centre in Los Angeles, California.
Gervonta’s third-straight pay-per-view headline attractions will see him battle his lightweight opponent “Rolly”, as both power-punchers will risk their unbeaten records in an attempt to wind up the year with a historic victory.
The boxing’s hottest attraction, Baltimore professional boxer, Gervonta Davis, will be going into the fight with a perfect score, as he had staged 25 fights, 24 of his victories by way of knockouts (Kos), no draws and losses.
According to Premier Boxing, the five-time southpaw world champion, “Tank” Davis, currently stands tall with a professional 96 per cent knockout score, 171 cm reach, and weighs 129.75 Ibs.
In the same vein, the hard-hitting Las Vegas professional boxer, “Rolly” Romero, will come into the ring with an all-straight score, after staging 14 fights, 12 of his wins by way of knockouts (Kos), no draws and losses.
Statistics from Premier Boxing shows that, the orthodox boxer, “Rolly” Romero, currently weighs 135 Ibs, has 85.71 per cent knockout score, and a reach advantage of 173 cm over “Tank” Davis.
Match day expectations
Describing the upcoming lightweight event, Mr. Leonard Ellerbe, Chief Executive Office (CEO) of Mayweather Promotions, said, “this is a very dangerous fight for both guys and it’s definitely ending in a knockout”.
On his part, Mr. Stephen Espinoza, President, SHOWTIME Sports, stated that “‘Tank’ Davis is at the top of the boxing mountain and selling-out arenas coast-to-coast for a reason”.

Highlighting the abilities of “Rolly”, Mr. Espinoza said “Rolly” is an ultra-confident, power puncher on a mission. “He’s an underdog with something to prove and that makes him very dangerous. This is, by far, his biggest opportunity to date and he’s going to leave everything in the ring one way or another”.
At the press conference leading to the December bout, Gervonta said “‘Rolly’ is just here to talk. He’s trying to talk his way into winning, but he’s scared”.

Rolly’s point of view going into the December 5th fight is not far from the expectations of “Tank” Davis, as he disclosed during the conference that “everyone’s going to see December 5th, I’m going to knock Gervonta … out. I hope you hear that”.
“I’ve been calling ‘Tank’ out since 2017. We were supposed to spar in 2018 and he didn’t show up to the gym.
