He noted that the food blogging idea came about when a photographer friend called on him for a promo shoot with a new Café & Family Restaurant.
According to him, the outcome of the promo shoot was impressive which further convinced him to begin the food blogging.
“It happened with Chocolate Sarayi. It was new in town and a photographer friend called me and said they wanted a promo and would like me to do it for them. So, I said fine and we did it, people loved it and I was like okay they love the food thing so let me do it. Then other restaurants liked it too and the calls kept coming,” he narrated.
Recounting the monetary benefits so far, he said, “It pays. But by the time you take the money and get out of the comfort zone then the money reduces because you have a crew that you pay and all.”
He indicated that his food blogging earned him more fans in Nigeria and he received some invitations from notable content creators in Nigeria.

SDK expressed his frustration over the high prices of food at restaurants in Ghana, which he attributed to the taxes imposed by the government.
He shared his experience of visiting a restaurant owned by a particular actress in Ghana.
He mentioned that he and his friends were complaining about the prices of the food, but the owner explained that it was not her fault, but the taxes that she had to pay led to an increase in the prices of her product.
“I think it will be the taxes. If I remember, was it three, or four years ago? I went to one of the actress’s restaurants. So we went there and we saw the prices and we were complaining. And she came back and told us, it’s not her, It’s the taxes they’re bringing,” SDK noted.
“Because the GRA came there, came to review everything. So she had to add more and change the prices of all the food that she was selling and things. So sometimes it’s not them. The taxes are the problem,” he further added.
His comments come amid posts on social media bemoaning the high costs of meals sold at restaurants. Some netizens questioned why a plate of food could cost as high as GHC300.
According to the Ghana Revenue Authority, sales or service by restaurants is subject to the standard VAT rate of 17.5%, plus a 1% COVID-19 levy.
SDK revealed that he was not happy with the situation, and he hoped that the government would review the taxes and make them more favorable for the restaurant owners and the customers.
